Narrative Structure – Obses 1) Equilibrium : a group of young,18 year old girls are going to a party all together to celebrate finishing for the

Christmas holidays. For that reason, the film will begin by showing viewers the girls getting ready, As the girls get ready, the audience are made aware of someone who has been constantly trying to get in contact with Chloe (Tia). This “stranger” is obsessed with Chloe and will not leave her alone. The audience see that Chloe is getting stressed with this male character who we then find out is Ricky (Chloe's boyfriend) cousin. Ricky is unaware of his cousin’s obsession with Chloe, and is also going to the party, however Chloe arrives with her friends, unaware that this stranger is following her.

2) Disruption of the Equilibrium: Chloe leaves the party so that she can call Ricky and when he does not answer his phone she becomes worried and decides to leave him a voicemail questioning his whereabouts. The antagonist listens to this phone call around the corner and as a result she decides to walk to his house, which is around the corner from the house party, which she is presently at. On the journey to his house, she hears a noise down an ally way, which is the antagonist. Unfortunately, the girl decides to walk down the ally way and the antagonist grabs her from behind and as she screams he drags her into the back of his car.

3) Recognition of the Disruption: As Ricky is walking to the party, he sees the car in which Chloe has been taken in. Chloe’s face and hands are up against the window of the car screaming for help. Ricky recognises Chloe to some extent but is not 100% sure it is her. Ricky starts to become paranoid and due to this he runs the rest of the way to the party. Once, he finally arrives at the party frantically he questions all of Chloe’s best friends. They are unaware of Chloe leaving and now all the group start to panic but Ricky states that he will go and find his girlfriend. He run’s to his cousin (Michael) house to borrow his motorbike , when he sees nobody is in. Ricky knows where the spare key is and lets himself in where he runs up to Michaels room to get the motorbike keys. This is where Ricky becomes aware of Michaels obsession with Chloe with pictures placed all around his room of Chloe.

4) An attempt to repair the damage: The pictures infuriate Ricky, so he grabs the motorbike keys from the side and remembers a location where Michael loves to go (the woods) due to childhood memories he shared with his father who recently passed away. Ricky drives there with no hesitation and sees Chloe and Michael by the pond, with Jessica and Sarah holding Tia down to his surprise. Ricky sees that Michael has a gun in his hand. Ricky approaches them slowly and questions what on earth is going on. Frightened Chloe is being held at gun point by Michael, without them knowing and reaches to grab Chloe but Michael viciously pulls Chloe backs towards him. The group start arguing and Ricky starts to talk to Michael about his father and how is father wouldn’t be proud of him doing this making Michael feel guilty. In the end Michael feels guilty and gives in. Chloe is then handed back to Ricky where he takes her and protects her from Sarah and Jessica. Michael then grabs the gun and runs off into the woods and commits suicide stating that he wants to be with his dad. The police are then called to the scene where Sarah and Jessica are arrested for attempted murder. Ricky and Chloe then go back to where they live and live happily again.

Type of shots in the trailer

Establishing shot – Putney Bridge during the day, which will then progress into the night. On a number of occasions, close up shots will be used to convey characters emotions

and sudden actions. For example, close up shots of the girls applying their make up (lipstick) in the mirror. In addition to this, close up shots of Ricky identifying his girl friends kidnapper, as he discovers the wall of images depicting Chloe. Close p shot where Chloe is at gun point – conveying her fear and emotions.

Jump cuts will be used to heighten the disorientation for viewers and exaggerate the thrilling aspect of scenes constantly changing – jump cuts will include scenes from the opening section of out trailer (including the girls getting ready). In order to generate suspicion and tension for viewers, this scene will jump to a scene of the girl being dragged helplessly into the back of the man’s car. (This scene will be edited to appear like CCTV footage).

Other scenes in the trailer will incorporate fast motorbike scenes of Ricky trying to find his missing girlfriend.

As stated on the previous slide, our establishing shot will depict a scene of the River Thames during the day, which will then be edited to progress quickly into the night. As shown in the pictures displayed on this slide, these are the type of scenes that will be used for our establishing shot in our trailer. It is evident that each image displayed above is taken during the night and so the light that is present is heightened to a great extent. The majority of our film we be filmed during the night and so the light that is present could reflect the girl’s need for survival. Even though there is little light, there is still light present and so there is hope to find the girl – it is not complete darkness.

Style Inspiration - Genre We are following in the footsteps of the Taken film series, which respectively

conforms to an action thriller genre. For that reason, our trailer will incorporate fast paced scenes such as the motorbike ride, in search for the missing girl. Similarly to the Taken 3 trailer, our trailer will open picturing a scene of the River Thames during the day, which will then be edited to progress quickly into the night, using time lapse. Immediately, the dark setting leads to the assumption of the unknown and therefore causes immediate suspicion for viewers.

Scenes depicting guns and motorbikes reflect an action genre. Hybrid – action and thriller – both cause suspense and leave the audience on the edge of their seats right the way through.

Romance is also incorporated into the trailer and so our trailer offers a variation of content, generating a wide target audience as a result.

Friendship and love is also a key aspect of our trailer, in the desperate hunt to find the missing girl.

London will be shown as a vibrant city, due to the lights and parties depicted in the house party and the motor bike scenes, conveying the city as busy and consequently unforeseeable at the same time.
