Location Recce – Potential LocationsPotential Locations - Description
Photograph of the location
Google Map (Identify the precise location)
Is it suitable (think about genre, narrative, research you’ve undertaken) – how? Why?
Easby Abbey – Richmond. This is a historic place in Richmond.
The location is extremely old and run down. This gives a creepy vibe, making you feel slightly on edge. This is therefore ideal for a horror opening title.
Access Issues
Very little – 1.6 mile walk from my house. Therefore the location is very easy to access as we can walk there from my house. The location is also open to the public, therefore we are allowed to use the location to film.
Lighting Issues
I will have to make sure every different occasion I film there that the natural light in the sky is similar (the location is outside) therefore my filming looks natural. I will also have to use a car headlight or a floodlight if we decide to film in the dark.
Sound Issues (If applicable)
As we are outside we are vulnerable to the sound of wind against the camera. This is something I am aware of I will do everything in my power to avoid happening.

Costume & Make-up
I will be applying special FX make-up when working. To do this, I use sharp tools to create fake scars and cuts. I will have to be careful when using these tools and make sure my actor is in good health.
Dangerous Structures
The Abbey is run down, and very old. When filming we will have to avoid going on/near any of the broken down building. This will mean we avoid any health and safety hazards.
Night Operation
I might decide that I want to film in the night. If so, I will make sure I am always using lights so that I can see what I am doing whilst being careful and responsible in the dark.
