Known as “The Scholar Center” by the most of thepeople living in Targoviste, and, between 1974-1989,as “The Industrial High School No 1”, our high schoolcontinues the tradition of the technical and professionalschool in Dambovita.
The name of our high school is representative for both its rich history and the reputation it earned ever since its establishment in 1949.
In 1994, the school took the name of Industrial Scholar Group “Nicolae Cioranescu”,
in honor of the academic and scientific activity of themathematician Nicolae Ciorănescu (1903-1957),renown professor of the Polytechnic Institute inBucharest born in the Dambovita region. Starting thisacademic year, the school became The TechnologicalHigh School “Nicolae Cioranescu”
The solemn atmosphere is heightened by the imposing chestnut trees guarding the alleys heading towards the school.
The dialogue between generations is initiated when ourstudents are waiting for their friends – students at theuniversity adjacent to our school. The advantages ofbeing so close to a university campus are obvious as thetear from the high school environment isn’t so rough –“The University is so close by!”
