• The Library Catalogue is a searchable database

• It includes all the materials (books, journals, video, DVDs,

dissertations, exhibition catalogues etc) held in Middlesex

University Libraries

• Use the Library Catalogue to find out if we have what you are

looking for eg. a book on your reading list

• The Library Catalogue will tell you if the item is held in the Library,

where you can find it and if it is available for loan

• Some items are electronic eg. e-books and e-journals and the

Library Catalogue will give you the link to access them online

• You can use the catalogue to renew books which you have on

loan.

What is the Library Catalogue?

• Combination of author and title (easiest and best way)

Access the Library CataloguemyUniHub > My Study > My Library > Library Catalogue

Select ‘Library Catalogue’

from the list of resources

Enter search terms into search box

The default search

is ‘General

keyword’. Use this

option if you know

the author and the

title of the book.

Enter the author’s

surname and some words

from the book title into the

search box eg. Ward

database management…..

.….Click ‘Go’

Your search results are displayed

Scroll down the screen until

you find the right book.

Remember to check that the

book details are correct ie.

author, title, publisher, year

etc.

‘Campus’ tells

you which Library

holds copies of

the book

Note down this

number (including

letters) to help you

find the book on

the shelves

‘Location’ tells you

which floor of the

Library to go to

‘Loan type’ tells

you how long you

can borrow the

book for

‘Status’ indicates whether the book is

‘available’ for loan or not available ie. ‘On

loan’ to another student. The date tells

you when the book is due for return.

It is possible to request books if all the

copies are on loan

Click on ‘Request

item’ and follow

the prompts. See

our ‘Requesting

books’ online
