" Letter-writing Time " lesson planObjectives:At the end of this lesson Ss should be able to:* compose a written text (a letter) based on a familiar topic.Letter-writing aims ultimately at:•improving social skills – saying "thank you", sending an invitation, offering help or support, ………etc.•asking for information – formally or informally.•exchanging ideas and opinions.•writing about some personal experience. Warm up:1.discuss letter-writing focusing on personal experience, reasons, advantages, feelings, form, expressions, ……...2.show the class a real model of a letter (on a wall sheet, overhead projector or data show) and encourage Ss to talk about what they see.

" Letter-writing Time " lesson planPresentation ( Introduce letter-writing )( Using the model of the letter )•show Ss the address and how and where to write it.•refer to the date of the current day to be written under the address.•point to the word "Dear" referring to its position and telling its meaning.•read the greeting sentence, tell Ss how the letter begins, give and elicit more similar sentences to be written at the beginning of a letter.•ask Ss to read the body of the letter and tell what the topic is, •give and elicit more topics and suggested sentences to be written instead.•read the final sentence, tell Ss how the letter ends, give and elicit more similar sentences to be written at the end of a letter.•point to the word "Yours" referring to its position, telling its meaning and what to be written under it "the name of the sender"
