Main Aims:

Students will be able to understand short pieces of descriptions from different animals.

Personal Aims:

Camila will try to move around the classroom and interact more with the students at the back.

Materials:

Photocopies.

Cardboards.

Animal images.

Beamer

Anticipated problems:

Students may find it difficult to understand the texts about animals they do not know.

Possible Solutions:

We aid them with the vocabulary they may not know, and remind them of the difference between have got /haven’t got.

PROCEDURES

1) Warm-up activities:a) We will correct homework that was given to the students:

Choose the correct animal

1) They have got a beak, two flippers and feathers.

A) Whales B) Penguins C) Seals

2) They have got fins, gills and scales on their body.

A) Seals B) Snakes C) Sharks

3) They have got four legs, a short tail and antlers.

A) Giraffes B) Deer C) Elephants

4) They have got a big body with flippers and a blowhole.

5) They have got grey skin, small eyes and two horns.

6) They haven’t got legs or fins.

2) Main Activity:

a) In pairs, students are presented with different images about rare

animals of the world. There will be more or less 15 different animals

and each pair will have to answer ‘Yes, they have –No, they haven’t’

by looking at the picture. E.g. Have okapis got wings? No, they

haven’t.

b) After they have answered the questions, they present the animals to

their classmates. They have to describe them according to what they

have answered. E.g. Okapis haven’t got wings.
