Skill : Speaking

Time Allotment : 1 x 40 minutes

A. Competency Standard : 3. Speaking

To express the meaning of transactional conversation and

simple short spoken interpersonal to interact in the daily

activity.

B. Basic Competence 3.2 : To understand and to respond transactional conversation

(to get things done) and simple interpersonal (to socialize)

by using spoken language variety accurately, fluently, and

interacting in the society that is involving the expression

of: asking, accepting, and declining an invitation.

C. Indicator :

1. Identifying the expression of asking, accepting, and declining an invitation.

2. Mentioning the expression of asking, accepting, and declining an invitation.

3. Understanding the expression of asking, accepting, and declining an invitation.

4. Using the expression of asking, accepting, and declining an invitation in in the daily

activity.

D. Learning Objective :

At the end of the lesson, students are able to:

1. identify the expression of asking, accepting, and declining an invitation.

2. mention the expression of asking, accepting, and declining an invitation.

Teddy : I’m sorry, I can’t.

F. Steps of Teaching

1. Opening

a. Orientation :

- Teacher greets the class.

- Teacher asks the students who absent is.

b. Apperception :

- Teacher shows the video about inviting friend.

- Students watch the video about inviting friend.

c. Motivation :

- Teacher gives the aim of the lesson.

2. Main Activities

a. Exploration :

- Teacher explains the expressions of inviting someone, accepting and

declining invitation.

- Teacher gives the examples of expressions of inviting someone, accepting

and declining invitation.

- Students identify the expressions of inviting someone, accepting and

declining invitation.

- Students mention the expressions of inviting someone, accepting and

declining invitation.

b. Elaboration :

- Activity 1

Teacher asks the students to work in pairs.

Students work in pair to arrange jumble dialogues

Students practice those dialogues in pairs.

- Activity 2

Teacher distributes some situational cards.

Teacher asks students to work in group of three to make the dialogues

using the expressions of inviting someone, accepting and declining

invitation.
