Open up Audacity and go to File/New to start a new project. You should have a

blank screen like this.

Creating the Narrations

Click the record button and speak into the microphone.

When finished narrating, click the stop button.

Importing Audio

1. Import the Mp3: Rain and Thunder Sounds located under “resources”

2. Import one of three listed songs that fits the mood of your selected Haiku.

Importing Sounds and Music

Go to File on your Audacity screen

and click on import.

Your Multi-track RecordingWhen finished, you should have a total of four tracks displayed on your screen.

Move Those Tracks!

Use the “time shift tool” to manipulate the positions of your tracks.

Adjust the Volume

Lower the sound of the

music track so that your

narrations can be heard clearly.

Saving Your Project

• Save your project on the Audacity PD 2011 page of our CVE Wiki

• Save as: Your Full Name_PD Haiku
