Our school is located in the centre of Potsdam's biggest residential area called:

"Am Stern"

Due to Johannes Keplerplatz which is nearby the school is conveniently accessible via public transport for pupils arriving from the city centre itself as well as for those from neighbourhoods like Kleinmachnow, Stahnsdorf, Teltow and Michendorf.


Being the central

element of the

outstanding

development project

"Campus Am Stern" our

school was completely

redeveloped between

2006 and 2009.


In the course of the

redevelopment the entire

school area is being

redesigned: Next to the new

schoolyards most modern

leisure facilities are created

meeting the needs of pupils

at all ages.

Thus the Leibniz-

Gymnasium and its direct

surroundings offer excellent

conditions for envisaging

Brandenburg's high-quality

concept according to the

education grant for

particularly gifted pupils.


During the ten years of the

school's successful

participation in the pilot

scheme "Advanced Classes"

the teachers have gained

great experience of working

with especially gifted pupils

and constantly improved

their knowledge in special

courses. On account of this

convincing work we were

awarded special permission

to teaching advanced

educated classes also at

elementary school level

(year 5 and 6) since 2001.
