Feedback from the Group Discussions
Self-issue and RFID just introduced; Beacon award won – Exeter College Discussion of continuation of Devon/Cornwall group – generally in favour but with
potential to have a training focus and looking at particular specialist groups. Support of UoP and RSC-SW has been very useful
Gloucestershire College use Moodle and use a variety of online tools to support learners, particularly looking at how to present information online. Has been named as a MoleNet Academy
Sharepoint and Filton college – developing use e-Books for FE – links and access issues. Looking forward to having Anna Vernon at
next LT Forum in February to ask questions. Gloucestershire Adult Education recommended signing up for CHIPS –ILT publication –
they aim to be in each issue! – excellent blog use by Glos Adult Ed showing staff development and skills http://aded-interest.blogspot.com/;
developing use of Open Learn (OU units) in Adult Education; use Etherpad as part of assessment

Feedback from the Groups
General discussion about e-Books – in particular the JISC eBooks for FE project – embedding and marketing and promotion – time – research skills issues so target with key resources and embed in Moodle or reading lists
Staff skills and information literacy. Staff lack skills as much as students. Bridgwater College – staff conference where Learning Resources staff have slots to promote good practice
April 11, 2023 | slide 11
Feedback from groups
Embed staff skills as part of IfL requirement Ongoing support for staff as part of the CPD programmes
required – not one off Information Literacy for students – embedded in
organisations quite well particularly in smaller organisations also functional skills as part of the curriculum. Richard Huish has good curriculum liaison. Need to push for accreditation for information literacy
Functional skills really important and we need to explore how the Library and Learning resources can join in with these
