HISTORY The initial technology break through came from co-founder and CTO David Holz.David was working on a PhD in mathematics from UNC chapel Hilland left to pursue leap motion The leap motion is a motion control interface designed for use with existing computers and demo videos the device calls to mind natural, sci-fi interface like the one found in the Tom Cruise blockbuster Minority Report.

WHAT LEAP MOTION CONTROLLER?

The Leap Motion Controller is actually quite unassuming ,considering its capabilities. It’s just over three inches long, an inch wide and less than a half-inch thick with a glossy black panel on top, behind which resides the infrared sensors. The edge, meanwhile, is ringed with a seamless aluminum band. It can track down to 1/100th of a millimeter. The Leap senses hand and finger movements independently , as well as items.
