• New technologies changing the way people read and study.
• Studying and reading supports:
• Paper,
• Computer screen,
• Tablet PCs and e-readers - iPad.

THE CHANGES IN THE WORK• One device for everything.
• Many applications to deal with everyday studying and school life:
• Read books,
• Take notes,
• Record voice and lectures,
• Write essays,
• Keep track of assignments, lectures and grades (digital planner)...

ADVANTAGES
• Time to access to the resources,
• Huge digital library stored on devices (thousands of books/papers),
• Everything ever written available online,
• Content integration (one device for everything),
• Multimediality,
• Easier transportation,
• More environmental friendly.

DISADVANTAGES
• Reading speed (as compared to paper):
• 25% slower from computer screens, (Molinari),
• 6,2% slower from iPad, 10,7% slower from Kindle (Nielsen).
• Printed books “nostalgia” - individual tastes,
• Unfamiliar devices - Time to use it productively.
