Knowledge Center Information
The electric bill is composed of five main parts and gives a large amount of information about the use of electricity and the costs involved.
The Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) is a public corporation that was founded in 1941. Their responsibility is to provide electric energy services to customers in the most efficient, cost-effective and reliable manner in harmony with the environment.

1. Information about the Utility Supplier: includes the contact information such as name, postal direction and official phone number and web site.
2. Client information: includes the information regarding the user such as the issue date of the bill, account number, billing cycle, name and service postal direction.
3. Meter Number: the official meter codification that is registering the electrical energy consumption for the service direction.
4. Days of consumption: the number of consumption days measured and billed
5. Remote: indicates if the bill cost was based on remote billing or meter readings.
6. Actual Reading: actual reading on meter was directly read or was an estimate reading.
7. Last Reading: the reading on meter done during the last month.
8. Constant: It is multiplied by the difference of the Actual and Last readings in order to obtain the consumption to be billed.
9. Consumption kWh: electricity consumption in Kilowatts per hour.
10. Last Consumption: the electricity consumed in the previous bill.
11. Exported: the kilowatts of electricity that are generated but are not used and are returned to the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) power lines.
12. Accepted for accumulation: indicates the amount of kilowatts of electricity accepted by PREPA.
13. Period Accredited: the amount of kilowatts of electricity that was accredited to the account.
14. Net Consumption: the total that was billed after being accredited from the kilowatts gathered.
15. Kilowatts Remnant: the amount of energy not used.
16. Actual: The actual reading received from the client to the PREPA Network.
17. Last: the last reading received from the client to the PREPA Network.
18. Next Lecture: date expected for the next bill.
19. Accredited Payment: payment accredited since last bill.
20. Normal Charges for Electricity Consumption: includes all the charges related to the utility service.
21. Basic Tariff: includes service charges and consumption charges.
22. Adjustment Clause: includes concepts of energy and fuel charges.
23. Normal charges for electricity sales: total electricity sale charges.
24. Quantity to pay: Total quantity to be paid.
25. Deposit: includes the deposit number, the date and the quantity that was paid.
26. Due Date: the last date for the bill to be paid without additional late fees
27. Law 33: the law applying to the electricity bill and billing processes.
28. kWh Cost: details the cost for every bill period. It varies from client to client.
29. Consumption History: a bar graph that represents the electricity consumption with respect to time. It shows the consumption for the last twelve months. The last month shown at the right is the last month billed.
30. Payment Format: include the selection for the payment.
31. Account Number: a thirteen digit number that identifies the account number for the user.
32. Quantity to Pay: Total quantity to be paid.
33. Quantity Paid: Total quantity paid for the client.
34. Due Date: the last date for the bill to be paid without additional late fees.
35. Client information: includes the information regarding the user such as client name and service postal direction.
