The K-5 Mathematics Endorsement program engages students in comprehensive exploration, research, and practice in elementary mathematics in today’s diverse classrooms.
Graduates are high qualified teachers who have the mathematical pedagogical content knowledge, instructional capabilities, and mindsets needed to serve as effective teachers and also teacher leaders in their schools and communities.

K-5 MATHEMATICS ENDORSEMENT CREDIT REQUIREMENTS

o Fall Semestero ECE 7393 Number and Operations in the Elementary Classroom (3)o ECE 7395 Rational Number and Algebra in the Elementary Classroom (3)
o Spring Semestero ECE 7394 Geometry and Measurement in the Elementary Classroom (3)o ECE 7396 Data Analysis and Probability in the Elementary Classroom (3)
ECE 7740 Internship in Early Childhood Classroom (3) Requires students to teach several lessons in an elementary classroom with observation and feedback by a university instructor. Students should use their own classrooms (or one assigned to you if you don’t have your own) for this course.
NOTE: These endorsement courses can count toward a M.Ed. or Ph.D. in Elementary Education and Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. They can be taken standalone or used toward completion of a graduate degree.
