I would like to take this time to tell you about my Senior Project. This project consists of helping others, a true passion of mine. Through Freehome Elementary, I was led to a family of three children in need of school supplies, groceries, and Holiday support. I was able to get the community involved in helping this family. My product is a graphical presentation of my donations and expenditures throughout my journey. Because I would be taking donations without any profit to myself, I decided to research nonprofit organizations and the economy. I learned that nonprofits can only work as well as the economy, so I knew that this would be a problematic undertaking. I am a quiet person so asking people for donations and spreading the word about my efforts was difficult; however, I overcame this through the support of the people I encountered. I was able to grow as an individual as well as exhibit my passions to help a family in need. Many nonprofit organizations are Christian based and my topic is a missionary voyage. From this process, I have learned that I can do anything I want as long as I do not let my quietness stop me. I have also learned that, although I probably would not enjoy a job that involves fundraising, I would thoroughly appreciate a missionary career where I can help others. I intend to go to a Christian based college where I can further grow as a person and learn how to be an aid to others. Through this I will become better equipped to carry out God’s plan for my life.

Dear Judges:

My name is Leah Davis and I am a Senior at Creekview High School. I would like to take this

time to tell you about my Senior Project. This project consists of helping others, a true passion of

mine. Through Freehome Elementary, I was led to a family of three children in need of school

supplies, groceries, and Holiday support. I was able to get the community involved in helping

this family.

My product is a graphical presentation of my donations and expenditures throughout my journey.

Because I would be taking donations without any profit to myself, I decided to research nonprofit

organizations and the economy. I learned that nonprofits can only work as well as the economy,

so I knew that this would be a problematic undertaking. I am a quiet person so asking people for

donations and spreading the word about my efforts was difficult; however, I overcame this

through the support of the people I encountered. I was able to grow as an individual as well as

exhibit my passions to help a family in need.

Many nonprofit organizations are Christian based and my topic is a missionary voyage. From

this process, I have learned that I can do anything I want as long as I do not let my quietness stop

me. I have also learned that, although I probably would not enjoy a job that involves fundraising,

I would thoroughly appreciate a missionary career where I can help others. I intend to go to a

Christian based college where I can further grow as a person and learn how to be an aid to others.

Through this I will become better equipped to carry out God’s plan for my life.

The Senior Project, although overwhelming at times, is a great way to explore future

opportunities. Overall, I believe this project has helped me to, as Lisa Fernandez would say,

“make myweaknesses my strengths and my strengths stronger.” Thank you for taking the time to

read about how this project has affected me.

Sincerely,

Leah Davis
