Early Life

    Juan Luis Guerra is Dominican Singer. He was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on June 7, 1957.  Juan Luis Guerra is son of the marriage formed by the basketball player Gilberto Guerra and Olga Sejias. I only know that his father was basketball player. 

Childhood  Upon completion of High School,

courses for a years Philosophy and Literature at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), then decide that music is his vocation and changed the National Conservatory of music.

Adulthood  Ten years he learned to play guitar but his

fondness demonstrated not star until much later half his studies of Philosophy and letters that began in 1975.  In 1950 Juan Luis Guerra to study compositions at the famous Berkeley College of music, but should return regularly to his country to get money working on at television channel with which to pay for his studies in the United States. There he met Nora Vega, his wife with she he has two children Jean Gabriel and Paulina. They lives in Santo Domingo, Republic Dominican.

    Had a difficult life because he was away from his family to fulfill his dream. But he lived in your town happy people gave him with respect and affection.

Becoming Famous The singer was presented as the home theater there

began his life as a songwriter. In 1985 , after a performance, Dominican Bienvenido Rodriguez makes entrepreneur record signing Juan Luis Guerra his first contract for Karen Records label. He has traveled the world doing his presentations, he has met many people important in the artistic medium.

He won  23 awards1. 15 Latin Grammy Awards2. 2 American Grammy Awards3. 2 Latin Billboard Music Awards.4. 3 Latin Grammy Awards5. Latin Grammy Award for producer of the year.

The Most Important Things He Did

In 1991 war created the "Foundation 440'' aimed at the most needy in the Dominican Republic, then in 1999 he changed the name to Foundation "Juan Luis Guerra".

On March 16, 2008, he participated  with Juanes, Miguel Bose, Carlos Vives , Alejandro Sanz, Juan Fernando Velasco, Ricardo Montaner at the concert (Paz sin fronteras) on the border between Colombia and Venezuela.

In April 18 of that year Juan Luis Guerra organized a benefit concert "Un Canto De Esperanza por Haiti" in order to build a Children's Hospital in Haiti.
