• Create an outline of class

Create Samples & Photos

• Create step by step samples

– Use a plain background for photos

– Choose a background that contrasts with your

Create Powerpoint Presentation

• Create title slides

– Use a white background for presentation

– Keep slides clean and streamlined without extra

animations or transitions

• Add text to slides

– Use Georgia text throughout presentation

• Add photos

– Don’t forget to include close-ups where

appropriate

– Create a short script for your narration

– Eliminate distracting background noises or

use a noise reduction microphone

use as a guideline. This would be a class for inserting an

invisible zipper into a pillow.

Pre-Assemble the Pillow

• Cut front & back of pillow the same size

• Add welt cord or decorative cording on front side of

pillow fabric

• Zipper length-minimum 2” shorter than

pillow, preferably as long or longer than pillow

bottom

• Open zipper full length

Sew In the Zipper

• Place zipper teeth next to the decorative welt cord

(zipper tape should line up with selvage edge of

pillow).

• Stitch zipper tape to fabric with basting stitch.

• Roll teeth flat (open) and stitch in the ditch as close as

possible to zipper teeth without stitching the teeth.

• Start and stop stitching about 2” from each end of the

pillow.

• Roll teeth flat (open) and stitch in the ditch as close

as possible to zipper teeth without stitching the

• Zip the zipper closed, this will help you match the

side edges of the pillow.

• With right sides together pin zipper in place at the

bottom of the pillow back, matching outside edges of

the pillow.

• Open zipper at this time.

• Baste the zipper in place with the

tape of zipper on the bottom edge

of the fabric.

• Return to the beginning of the zipper and fold the

teeth open and stitch in the ditch as close as possible

without catching the teeth in your stitching.

• Now you are ready to close the pillow at the zipper ends.

• Begin stitching the pillow at one end of the zipper and continue around to the other end.

• Turn your pillow right side out, insert pillow fill and zip pillow!
