A small sample of the diversity of gender expression in the natural
world
A note about language: Language has limitations.
Most of the modern concepts around gender were not developed until the second half of the century so many terms do not translate through history, to other cultures, or to nature.
For the purposes of this presentation I will use the term transgender
Transgender is “an umbrella term…uniting all those whose gender identity does not easily mesh with their gender assigned at birth”
