  • 1. It Isn't Easy Being Stephen Colbert!
    • Jarret's adventures as the pompous, eternal capitalist.

  • Jarret is my new roommate. He is an assistant producer for a TV show on SPIKE TV. His friends describe him as always in character. He is from an upper class family in Long Island. He never wears jeans, and if you didn't know his age, you might mistake him for a 40 year old man living in the 60s. He is obsessed with Ayn Rand, and you would know it if you spent 5minutes talking to him. His belief in her philosophies shows in many aspects of his life. Part of the character that he plays is being very narcissistic and vain. He never misses a chance to be photographed, or to show the photos off to anyone who sits down on his couch. 3. Wow, I'll bet you've neverseen such a handsome guy. Look at that smile, and the impeccable hair! Here I am, just washing the dishes a normal thing for me. I wish I had worn another shirt. I sleep in this one. - Jarret

  • This chair is Jarret's chair. He sits in it every day; whenever he watches tv, or has friends over. No one else sits in it. It would be weird to see him sit anywhere else. His character has a few key outfits. One of them is this robe, which he will often wear while drinking scotch and smoking a cigar. He also loves that hat. The globe is something he actually asked his father to find for his birthday. It opens up and holds alcohol bottles, and glasses. Jarret loves to drink scotch or wine in the evening. 5. It would be very uncomfortable for me to see someone else sitting in this chair.-Jarret

  • This is a picture of Jarret hanging out with a friend in his apartment. He is sitting in his chair, drinking wine. He is wearing his signature khaki pants. Even the way he is sitting is very 'Jarret.' Even though he doesn't mind the apartment being messy, he does take time to furnish and decorate the apartment. The posters on the wall are a new addition. He took a week to decide where each one should go. In this picture, the globe is open, and you can see some bottles. 7. Just me and Jaime having some wine and discussing philosophy. My dad sent me 20 movie posters, and I narrowed it down to 5 that I would hang up. -Jarret

  • This is Jarret cooking after coming home from work. He cooks often. Again, his clothes, haircut and glasses are very preppy. You will never catch Jarret wearing anything that doesn't fit into his character. He doesn't even own a pair of jeans. In the background is a desk on which Jarret sometimes paints pictures that he hangs on the walls. 9. Here I am cooking a wonderful meal. I am a great cook.

  • Here he is standing on the balcony looking out at the view, about to smoke a cigar. This is what I call serious Jarret. When he pulls out the cigar and scotch and sits on the balcony, he becomes real and will talk to you for hours about philosophy and politics and religion. He can also become very melancholy during these periods, but he enjoys them very much. As much as he likes his character, he also likes reaching out to someone as his real self. 11. Ah yes- serious. Here I am holding my scotch with a cigar in my mouth. This is just what I need at the end of a long day. My girlfriend tells me that we've never had a real conversation, and I tell her to come over and smoke a cigar with me on the balcony. -Jarret

  • This is Jarret standing in the living room. This pose and the face he is making is also part of his character. Jarret is known for having more movies than a rental place. Here, you can see some of his collection. There is nowhere left in the apartment to put another shelf, and the collection has definitely outgrown the shelves he currently has. He never lets anyone borrow them. If you look closely at the poster on the wall, you will see a paper ghost that Jarret made and taped up there for his Halloween party. Also, there is a bust of Mao between the DVDs. His character has a love for dictators. Another aspect of his Ayn Rand fascination. On the shelf under the Mao statue, you can see a large stick. This is his 'gift from the Gods,' and we will get a better look at it in another slide. 13. What a handsome devil. Yes, yes I have the best DVD collection in town. Leave Mao alone! Why is everyone so sensitive about my Mao statue?-Jarret

  • Jarret enjoys painting in his free time, especially during times of unemployment. All of his paintings are creepy. This is one that he has hung on the wall in the living room. Everyone asks about it. 15. This I painted after having a recurring nightmare. I had heard that drawing your nightmare will make it stop, so I painted it, and it stopped. I freaked out my old roommate with it....she wouldn't even let me hang it up! -Jarret

  • Here is a picture of Jarret and a friend playing around. These are two of his favorite toys: the huge fake rifle from Halloween, and the giant stick he picked up while camping. He displays both of these things in the living room and uses them as conversation pieces. 17. The stick was a gift from the Gods! They gave it to me while camping. I must display it in honor of them. Also, I need it for sword fights. -Jarret

  • I will leave you with a picture of Jarret drinking milk. Milk is Jarret's favortie beverage, and he goes through a lot of it. The picture on the right is another painting he did. This was actually inspired by a nightmare as well. 19. My paintings are my outlet. My milk is my nourishment. These two things say everything. -Jarret
