• Take photos that tell a story
• Take photos from different angles and perspectives
• Move in close
• Look the subject in the eye where possible
• Look for the details in the scene that will support your story
CAPTURE INTERESTING PHOTOS
• Scan the background before you take the photo
• Take photos from different perspectives to change the emphasis of your photo
• Try zooming in as close as possible for greater impact
TAKING A GREAT PHOTO
• Take many photos so you have more to choose from. Digital photography allows this with no additional cost
• Use the correct shooting mode
• Portrait mode for close-ups
• Landscape for distance shots
• Use the editing tools in Photoshop to improve your photos.

WHAT MAKES A GREAT SHOT?
• Anticipate the action so you get the shots you want
• Use your camera’s BURST mode, if it has one so you can take multiple shots
• Use your tripod’s swivel feature to follow the action.
• Turn off the display’s preview feature so you can take shots quicker.

• Avoid posing children. Try to capture them naturally
• Make the children feel comfortable and relaxed
