Word length :
A digital computer operates on binary digits – 0 and 1 . The number of bits that a computer can process at a time in parallel is called its word length .

Computers can calculate at very high speed , for example it can execute millions of instructions per second .
Accuracy :The accuracy of a computer system is very high . Errors in hardware can occur , but error detecting and correcting techniques will prevent false result .
STORAGE :Capability of
storing and retrieving huge amounts of data in a fast and efficient manner is one of the important characteristic of computer .
Automation :
Computer can perform every difficult task flawlessly and execute the programs in the correct sequence .
Versatility :
Computer is a versatile machine . It is capable of performing almost any task , provided the task can be reduced to a series of logical steps .
