What is narrative?

• The telling of its story

• The events in a movie and how they connect to each other (cause-and-effect)

• FORM-something made, the product of deliberate decisions concerning content

Who creates the narrative?

• The screenwriter!

• Sometimes it’s a story that the writer has pitched to the producer

• Sometimes the screenwriter is hired to write a specific idea

• At other times, the director him/herself is the screenwriter
