• Worldwide collection of computer networks, co-operating with each other to exchange data using a common software standard.
• The Internet is also called as the Information Superhighway.

• No leading zeros in an IP address E.g: 123.45.067.89 - Invalid IP.

• It is an Internet services that translates domain names into IP addresses.
• It is the computer name that can be used instead of an IP address.

• Each URL consists of 3 parts:
i. A PROTOCOL partii. A HOST partiii. A DOCUMENT part
