An ambitious blueprint for expanding astronomy development programmes in the areas of education, sustainable global development and capacity building.

This is a long term commitment by the IAU, building on the unparalleled success of the International Year of Astronomy

IYA2009 Legacy:Strategy plan: IAU Office for Astronomy Development

IAU Office for Astronomy Development will coordinate the many existing and planned IAU activities.

IYA2009 Legacy:IAU Public Outreach Coordinator (>2011)

Maintain and develop the IYA2009 network (IAU EPO Ambassadors);

Global collaboration and coordination between IAU and the amateur community;
