Globalization: Definition
"Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well-being in societies around the world.”1
1"What is Globalization." What is globalization? Levin Institute. <http://www.globalization101.org/What_is_Globalization.html>.
Why is globalization good?
1.Globalization creates huge, international companies, in which, these companies make the most use of the different kinds of resources allotted to them.
2.Makes trading and shipping between countries easier.
3. Improves cultural diversity.
4.Provides various jobs for people in many different parts of the world.
5.Helps the development and advancement of technology in international communication. This has caused the interactions between different countries to become more reliable and universal.
Why is globalization bad?•Since more developed countries already have good technology they are in better position of leading and dictating the rules in the industryof international business than the other countries, in a sense it creates a monopoly.
•Fake promises of a better economy and a better life leads of acceptance of the factories.
•However, the damage to the third world countries' environmentis a big issue, it makes those countries more difficult to develop.
•The result of the globalization is the rich countries get richer and the poor countries end up at the short end of the stick..
What should we do?
Globalization is an opportunity for change however, it is also a challenge.
We should accept the challenge, by learning in our classes with more care and interest. As well as, understanding international issues. Only then, can we
get a better chance to succeed in today's world.
