Time Warner is a company multinational media conglomerate. They own companies such as Warner Brothers, Turner Broadcasting, HBO and Time Inc. (which used to be ICP Media). It was founded in 1990 when Warner Communications and Time Inc merged. Since then has grown to be the third largest companies in the television networks, filmed TV & entertainment industry behind The Walt Disney Company and Comcat.

The magazine NME is part of the conglomerate Time Warner who own Time Inc, which is the organisation that produces NME. NME is an indie music magazine founded in March 1952 by Theodore Ingham a British music journalist. The first issue of NME was released March 7 1952.

To promote the magazine NME and Spotify teamed with Jack Daniel’s who have started Jack Rocks at The Macbeth in London. It is a Four month residency where independent and new bands will be playing live and other events like Q&A’s will be taking place.

Immediate Media Company is a corporation that publishes magazines and websites. The magazines they publish includes things such as the BBC magazines (BBC Music, BBC Wildlife), Top Gear and Top of the Pops. It was founded November 1st 2011. It has offices in both London and Bristol and it employs 750 staff between those offices. It has published over 50 magazines and over 30 websites since it started.

Top of the Pops is one of the magazines owned by Immediate Media. This is a pop magazine aimed at mainly teenage girls. It is a monthly magazine that first came out in February 1995. It was brought out alongside the tv show also named Top of the Pops. Even though the TV show is no longer produced the magazine is still brought out monthly.

The synergy that was used to promote Top of the Pops used to be the TV show that came out every week. I was a weekly charts show first on BBC One and then BBC Two. This would have performances from the week’s best selling pop artists and a rundown of the weeks singles chart.

Out of both of these institutions I think the best one to distribute my music magazine is Immediate Media as this is a smaller institution that does not distribute anything like it and therefore has a unique selling point.
