Bauer Media GroupBauer Media Group is a media company based mainly in Europe. The headquarters is based in Hamburg, Germany. This manages a portfolio with more than 400 digital products, over 600 magazines and 50 radio and TV stations all over the world. This can also include marketing services, print shops and postal distribution. In 17 countries, this publishing house has got about 11,000 people working for them.

This family business has been managed by five generations of the Bauer family. Initially, this company started off as a printing house in Germany. Bauer Media Group came into the UK and launched a new magazine called Bella magazine in 1987. they became the third largest publisher under the name of H Bauer Publishing. Expanding into the UK, Bauer purchased EMAP Consumer Media and EMAP Radio in 2008.

Bauer Media GroupThe Bauer Media Group acquired a collection of media brands.

This includes radio stations like KISS FM UK and Magic. In 2013, Bauer Media Group acquired Absolute Radio Group from Times of India.

When acquiring the radio stations, Bauer Media Group acquired music publication, such as Q. This was originally called ‘Cue’. However, they changed it so that people wouldn't confuse the magazine as a snooker magazine. This music brand had expanded into Q Radio and Q TV, being a form of musical entertainment which focused more on the indie, rock and alternative types of music. Also, Kerrang!, which specialises in rock music. Like Q magazine, Kerrang! was originally a magazine, which expanded into a Kerrang! Radio and Kerrang! TV.

Time Inc.Time Inc. is a publishing company based in New York, America. It is known to publish over 90 magazines including LIFE, Fortune 500, and many more. The founders of Time Inc., quit their original jobs to pursue a career in making a news magazine in 1992. The first issue of Time, which was released in 1923, sold for $86,000 and their target was $100,000. This had became a news magazine that would come out on a weekly basis in the United States. Henry Luce became a business manager and Briton Hadden took the role of being editor-in-chief. They alternated year-to-year the titles of president and secretary-treasurer. Unfortunately, Hadden past away in 1929 so Luce assumed Hadden’s position.

Time Inc.After Hadden died, Luce launches a business called Fortune in 1930. Luce decided to expand on the business by launching a magazine known as Sports Illustrated. He also produced The March Of Time radio and newsreel series.

Recommendations from Time Inc. based on how it delivered magazines, led to the introduction of ZIP codes by the United States Post Office in 1963.

In 2008, Time Inc. launched Maghound, which is an internet-based magazine membership service that shows about 300 magazine titles from both Time Inc. brands and external publishing companies.

In 2010, Time Inc. acquired StyleFeeder, a personal shopping engine.

EmapEmap is a British media company, which specialises in the production of business-to-business magazines, and the organisation of conferences and business events. Emap is an acronym, standing for East Midland Allied Press, and was founded in Peterborough in 1947. Emap expanded from being a business-to-business magazine production company to a radio station.

EmapEmap was founded in 1947. their main headquarters is based in London, United Kingdom. In 2006, their revenue was £1.154 billion GBP.

Richard Winfrey purchased the Spalding Guardian in 1887 and later purchased the Lynn News and the Peterborough Advertiser. He also started the North Cambs Echo.

As well as magazine publishing, Emap has a radio station, which owns 40 UK and Ireland local commercial radio stations. Following Emap’s purchase of Trans World Communications, it continued to buy radio stations. This including 21 stations from Scottish Radio Holdings on 21 June 2005.
