Notting Hill

• This is one of my favourite films anyway and I think it wouldn’t be too much of a challenge to aspire to make something similar.

• It could be based on a really popular girl falling for a less popular boy instead of the most famous movie star in the world which would have make it more achievable.

• I like the setting of this film

POSSIBLE IDEA

• I would like to do some sort of old fashioned film set in Hyland’s Park (pretending that the house is of course the main characters home).

It could be set in the 1940’s/1950’s during the war maybe?

Perhaps a woman is waiting for her husband to return from WW2 and the beginning could be articles from during the war and posters which will show that it is supposed to be set during the war (perhaps some of the titles could say the date).

There could be a letter read aloud that her husband has sent her.

• This idea is inspired by films such as Pride and Prejudice but also because I am very interested in history so would find this very interesting to make. One of my favourite film genres is also Romance so it would be an excellent combination for me. The fact that I already know that I would like to film in Hylands Park also helps as I can start imagining what it will look like when it is finished.

• It could be the woman arriving at her house (Hyland’s House) and walking in the door (being held open by doormen) and then switch filming to inside Oakland’s Park museum as they have a nice staircase. I could then film inside a normal room and the radio could be on (we could find a wartime radio broadcast) saying about fighting and the wife will look at her husbands picture.
