In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? For my three products I have used many convections of what real media magazines use. For example I have placed my masthead of the magazine on the left third of the front cover, this is so it is easier to see when in shops. Also on my front cover I have used a skyline and banner at the bottom, with both having artists names that would feature in my product. On my contents and double page spread I have placed my images and text in a similar fashion to the NME articles (next to this text box) e.g. where the content pages are, one large image for the double page, and lastly how I have used two images for my contents. All these are how I have used different convections to make my magazine look like a successful alternative music magazine. But also I have developed and challenged forms of conventions. I have developed the ideas for example on the front cover like with the cover lines I have the text and the two line border in two different colors (both being in my color scheme) . Also I have placed my barcode on the bottom corner in small so this doesn't distract the audience from the main image as well as not show the price clearly. Things that I challenged the forms of conventions are I have placed text all around my image on the double page, which magazines usually put next to the main part of the image. Lastly I have placed a digital barcode on the contents to get subscribe to the magazine, which no other magazine I have seen use.
