a. Academic Purposes- is when technology is used in

education by:

• Research

• Film Viewing

• Computer Image Projection

• Research- technology as a tool, used for

references in making assignments, and gathering informations.

• Film Viewing- technology as a tool, used for film-showing. It is used to let students watch educational films to learn.

• Computer Image Projection- technology as a tool, used for projecting media. Powerpoint

presentation is one good example.

b. Social Purposes- Education is learning. And learning does'nt limit itself in the four walls of

the classroom, it is anywhere.

• Social Interaction by using Social Networking Sites.

• Social Networking Sites- Facebook, Twitter and the like are used for constant social interaction

with people. When we are influenced, there is learning.

c. Recreational Purposes- Students also need time to

entertain themselves. There is fun in learning. They can play

games in computers like, Chess or watch educational videos.

• Games and Educational Shows

Games and Educational shows

- students are asked to

think, they use their brains.

• As a summary, technology is important in education for the reason that it serves variety of purposes, and improves students learning.
