Image Manipulation in Photoshop-

I am showing an image that I have used as my magazines front cover page. Firstly, I needed to crop the image, as if I would have put it onto my magazine as big as the image was taken, when adding the text, the image would be getting paid less attention to.

Once cropping my image down, this is what the outcome looked like.

After I had cropped my image down, I now wanted to change the image properties. So therefore, I went onto Image>Adjustments I didn’t know what exactly I wanted the photo to look like so by choosing adjustments, I looked around for properties to change in order to improve the image as much as I could.

After selecting Image>Adjustments I then selected Brightness/Contrast in order to change the brightness and contrast of the image.

This print screen shows how I have selected different amounts of brightness and contract from a scale. I moved the scale and left it when I thought that my image had been changed enough. So my image brightness is now 33 and the contrast of the image is -1.

I then wanted to remove the background colour by some sort of way. I didn’t want to full remove the background by selecting the Quick Selection tool or the Magic Wond so I decided on an alternative way. I went over to the tools and selected the Dodge Tool.

Once I had selected the Dodge Tool, I could then change the brush style and size so it was easier for me and I slowly and carefully began to remove this dull, grey background colour, so the background of it began to look white, which made the model in my image stand out a lot more than before.
