I’m a
teacher
When I say I work with very young learners, people generally reply with such a dull “Ah!” that I’d like to cry out …..
Where else could I tie bows in somebody’s hair, fasten belts and watch a daily
fashion show?
Where else, even though I wore the same dress day after day, would I hear that my dress is
still beautiful?
Where else would a lovely little young man tell me how much he
loves me?
Where else would I be more
important than here, where I
even have to blow the fashion show stars’ running
noses?
Where else would I easily forget my own sorrows than here, where I have to assist so
many broken hearts?
Who gets more flowers than me?
Where else could I guide
the first writing of a little hand that might
write a book one day?
Where else would I get as many smiles as here?
Where else would anyboby draw me a free portrait?
Where else my words would be so welcomed?
Where else would there be somebody waiting for me
with open arms?
Where else would I see real pieces of art from the
foreground?
Where?
Where else would I keep my soul young, but among little people
whose attention is so ephemeral that I always need to have a box of surprises at hand?
Where else would I cry because a year of happy relationships is nearly ending?
I feel great working with little ones!
To you all…
