ILLiad 8 Tips

• ILLiad 8 is different in that it run on your local workstation. You can't run it from the ILLiadshare, but it will still use all the same Word doc templates and email templates that you have on a server based on your customization keys. ILLiad 8 also auto updates itself so you don't have to worry about distributing the latest version to everyone.

• Once ILLiad 8 is available to everyone this summer, sites who are using ILLiad version 7.4 will be able to download and use the ILLiad 8 in parallel with their current ILLiad 7.4 version. The goal is that staff can process requests using the new client but always have the "safety net" of using ILLiad 7.4 if something is confusing in the new client.

• Email Templates

– Email templates that were previously stored in text files will now be stored in the ILLiad 8 database. This ensures that key customizations are saved with the database and that all staff are using the appropriate templates.

• Printing

• ILLiad 8 uses Microsoft Excel as the data files to merge with the Word templates, versus the .dbf files used in ILLiad 7.4 and earlier versions.

• Simply and automatically merges the document and prints it to the default printer on that client.

• New Staff Manager

• The ILLiad Staff Manager replaces the User Manager for granting Client Permissions to Staff Users. The Staff Manager is the place to add and delete users and change user passwords. You can copy permissions and layout settings from a selected user and apply them to another existing user, and you can create a new user using an existing user's permissions and layout settings.
