Announcements for Friday, October 4, 2013 (Teachers, be aware that I am changing the format to easily create a PowerPoint of this so you could just “play” the slideshow in homebase rather than read the announcements. That way, the slides could just keep running as students arrive, etc. The PowerPoint file is also available in this folder; titled “Announcements for …” Let me know if this is valuable.)

Oct. 8-11. Spirit week is coming! Pajama day is Tuesday; bring a can of food to “pay”

for dressing up (down) Students should be mindful of modesty and typical

dress-code allowances during Spirit Week. Be modest. Pajamas should be below the knee

(gowns or pants), should not be see-through (please).

If sleeveless, then straps should be two inches thick (not spaghetti straps).

Wear the usual undergarments UNDER the garments not AS the garments. Wear shoes.

Themes for the rest of the week: Wednesday is Wacky Tacky Day; bring flipflops

for students going on mission trips this summer.

Thursday is superhero or character day; bring items for an Operation Christmas Child box—or the whole box.

Friday is spirit day. You are not limited to mere denim and T-shirt. Deck out in blue and white. (Do we need to remind you to be modest?)

Ostensible pencils missing. Mrs. Butler is missing her Derwitt pastel

pencils. They are in a thin tin with the head of a lion on the case.

If you borrowed them, please return them. If you know where they are, please let your homebase teacher know so the tin can be returned to Mrs. Butler. Thank you.

Today. Trash it. Mr. Dudeck needs us to bring our trash bags to

the Dumpster again today. Either place your bag of trash outside Mrs.

Dagen’s room by 3:15 Thursday and Friday or walk it out to the Dumpster yourself.

Thanks.

Thanks lunch cleaner-uppers. You have been doing a much better job picking

up after yourselves after lunch inside and out. Be sure you are either eating at the field or in

the auditorium—or in your homebase when your homebase teacher is there.

Lunch ends at 12:25; class begins at 12:30. Be on time!

Cuddle up to your cubby. TODAY is officially the cubby cleaner-upper

day. You should see a trash can nearby; a trash can

is now near the logic girls’ set of cubbies; use the trash can rather than an unsuspecting person’s cubby. Seriously.
