IEEE BRAC University ChapterThe Inaugural Session of the IEEE BRAC University
Student Branch was held on the 6th of July 2008 at the Indoor Games room of BRAC University. The student branch was officially inaugurated amidst rounds of applause when Professor Saifur Rahman, Chief Guest of the event, launched the student branch website (http://ieee.bracu.ac.bd). Prof. Rahman is the Director of the Advanced Research Institute at Virginia Tech and is also the former Vice President of the IEEE Publications Board. The Special Guest on the occasion was Professor Aynal Haque from BUET who is currently the Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section. Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, the Vice Chancellor of BRAC University was also present in the event.

IEEE Foundation President & IBM Director visits BRACU
IEEE Foundation President Dr. Richard J. Gowen and IBM's Director at Research Dr. Kris Srikrishnan visited BRAC University on 31st August. IEEE BRAC University Student Branch invited Dr. Gowen and Dr. Srikrishnan, who were in Bangladesh for a very brief period, to share their experiences with students of BRACU.
