THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC HAS A VERY UNIQUE CULTURE, DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT WAS MAINLY

INFLUENCED FROM SPANISH AND AFRICAN CULTURES.

SPORTSFor this category, I would take a baseball. Baseball is our national sport and we are very well known for our great baseball players all around the world. We are also the current champions of the World Baseball Classic.

MUSICI would take a “guira” and a “maraca”

because they are vital to our national music merengue.

ARCHITECTUREThe most important site in the city of Santo Domingo is the “Zona Colonial” which is the first establishment of the New World. It is home of important landmarks such as “Faro a Colon” and the “Catedral Primada de America”

LEISUREFor this category I would take a dominoes

table made by presidente. Most of all dominicans knows how to play dominoes.

Something that can’t miss on any dominoes game is our national beer,

“Cerveza Presidente”.

FOODCoconuts mean that we are an island, since they

tend to grow in beaches. We have some of the

most beautiful beaches in the world.

TRADITIONFor this I would take a mask of our world famous “carnaval”. This event is done trough the whole month of Februray in commemoration of our independence which is the 27th of February.
