DESCRIPTION

The word banks in each Learning Pack are the mathematical vocabulary associated with that particular maths skill. They contain all the words a child will hear ask in a question and see in written form in a question, for that topic. They are consolidated alongside question cards, to enable the user to put together more complex questions that will raise the child’s ability to draw their own conclusions.

Maths Vocabulary

When you first introduce these new words to your child simply say them, linking them real objects or pictures.

Explain their meanings carefully and rehearse them several times. Referring to new words only once won’t work

– encourage your child to use them in context through questioning. Then help your child to read and write this

new vocabulary in a range of circumstances, ultimately spelling the relevant words correctly.
