WHY DID I PICK THIS SHORT FILM?

• The reason why I picked ‘I miss you’ is because I think that it’s a great example for us to use as a class.• It’s a film that’s easy to construct yet looks very

professional which is what we all should be aiming for.• The simple use of a voiceover makes the biggest

difference and ensures good audio.• The use of camera in the film was very effective as again

it made the film look very professional.

GENRE

•The genre of this film is romance.•This is displayed through the narrative of the film.

NARRATIVE• For me the moral of the story wasn’t very clear• I think that the moral of the story would vary for each individual as it could hold a different meaning for all.• Some may think that the moral is to reach out to someone you have been missing.• And others may think that some things are better left alone as that is the way things are meant to be.

REPRESENTATION• The film showcases the conflicted nature between the teen couple which is a stereotypical representation.•However it also shows the couple to be mature in the way that they have dealt with departing from each other.• All in all it shines more of a positive light on teens which doesn’t happen much in todays media.

AUDIENCE• I think that the film is aimed at teenagers due to the fact that the characters used on the film are teens.• I also think it is aimed at couples as it holds a message for them that they can relate to.• Further to this I think the film is also aimed at more of a female audience as romance is typically something a female would enjoy watching.

FURTHER NOTES• I found it quite surprising that the film didn’t end on a high note.• Typically romance films have happy endings but this one didn’t. • I thought it was quite smart to end the film in this way as it leaves the audience frustrated which then leads them to think of their own outcome if he was to send the message.
