● Katniss Everdeen○ She is a teenage girl who lives in District 12 which is a coal mining

region in the country of Panem. She is the volunteer tribute after her sister was selected as the original tribute.

● Peeta Mellark○ He is selected as the male tribute for District 12. Everyone in the

district doesn’t know much about him but he is the son of the baker in District 12

● Gale Hawthorne○ He is Katniss’s hunting partner and closest friend of her in District 12.

He is also one of the miners that work in Panem.

● Primrose “Prim” Everdeen○ She is the twelve-year-old sister of Katniss and the original tribute for

the 75th Hunger Games. She is very protective of Katniss especially during the drawing for tributes.

depression after the death of her husband in a mine explosion.

Hunger Games administrator, and represents the wealth and power of the government.

● Rue○ She is a tiny twelve-year-old tribute from District 11, the agricultural

district. Her strength during the game was using trees for transportation and hiding places and the call of the Mockingjay

● Thresh○ He is a big, silent guy from District 11, the same as Rue. During the

games he spared Katniss’s life for her to protect Rue, but he is killed later by Cato.

Hunger Games. He is from the wealthiest district and its District 2 and Katniss’s main competition

The conflict begins when “Prim” is chosen as tribute for the Hunger Games, Katniss steps in and volunteers in Prim’s place. She is later taken away to prepare for the games.

The climax is when the Hunger Games begins and people run toward the cornucopia to get supplies and weapons.

Peeta and Katniss win the Hunger Games but almost commit suicide after hearing only one can leave the arena. While almost killing themselves with poison berries making the capital angry but forcing them to end the games.
