Dangers and Threats- The observatory of Jantar Mantar in Jaipur has been affected by its outdoor situation in a tropical area, and then by its temporary abandonment in the 19th century, which has resulted in frequent maintenance changes and then various rebuilding processes and some parts were reconstructed over a period of more than a century. There were lots of ruins found on the floor of the Jantar Mantar.

Importance- Jantar Mantar is situated in the “City of Mughal India” called Jaipur. It is also a manmade site and it is a very special place to visit in Jaipur. The word “Jantar” means “Instrument” and the word “Mantar” means “Calculations” or “Formula”. The Jantar Mantar includes a set of some 20 main fixed instruments which shows that it is basically a Musical Place. The Jantar Mantar is also The Biggest Stone Observatory in India. The Jantar Mantar is a Sundial shaped place and a very old place built in Jaipur in the year 1724 by King Sawai Jai Singh. It was a symbol of Royal Authority towards other civilizations. Jantar Mantar is very familiar to any old fort you see in places but it is not. Infact, at night, Jantar Mantar gets lighted up and it looks so beautiful and the view at night is a must watch view and you will be able to see the real beauty of Jantar Mantar that you cannot see at the day time.

Protection- There are a few organizations that have taken the responsibility of Jantar Mantar such as The Rajasthan Monument Archaeological Site and Antiquities Act at the current moment. The organizations are giving and providing money for the Jantar Mantar to keep the monument protected. There are massive protections around the Jantar Mantar as it was crowned with the title of “A Monument of National Importance”.

Listing in the world’s most fascinating places-

The Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is an outstanding example of a very complete set of historical instruments in the heart of a royal capital at the end of the Mughal period in India. Several instruments are impressive in their dimensions, and some are the largest ever built in their category and is a significant place in Jaipur. The Jantar Mantar falls into 2 criteria used out of 10. In the UNESCO site, the Jantar falls into the criteria 3 and 4.
