Cultural tips: when to say thank you
WHEN TO SAY
THANK YOUIt is a Western custom to say ‘thank you’ in all kinds of situations,

a compliment, in Chinese culture this might actually be considered
rude. There is another Chinese phrase that is used to accept
compliments graciously which we will teach you in an upcoming

you’ for something tangible or for direct actions and gestures.
