• Motivating students is a challenge that almost all

teachers face.• Students need to be

motivated in order to focus on the task they will

accomplish. • How can we motivate

students?

• First of all, we should attract their attention on

what we are teaching, using humor, jokes and

engaging questions which get the students talking.

• We should make learning visual using drawings,

diagrams, pictures, charts, even three-dimensional or

real objects to help students anchor the idea

to an image.

Page 5: How To Motivate Students’

• The feeling of satisfaction, confidence and success has an important effect on motivation,

as well. We should provide activities that allow students

accomplish certain tasks and feel that they can do. We can

accelerate this by giving positive feedback and praises like “Good job! or Well Done!”.

• When we use positive emotions to enhance learning

and motivation including something fun, exciting,

happy, or perhaps even a bit frightening, students will

learn and remember better.
