  • Cross the ribbon over like in the picture to form an awareness ribbon shape. You want the good side of the ribbon against the table.

Now connect the tails to each other by bringing one tail to the other (keeping the ribbon tails on the same side of your ribbon). You can then slide the seam towards the middle of your figure 8.

Now bring the top of the figure 8 straight down to the center, as shown.

  • Then bring the bottom of the figure 8 straight up to the center, as shown.

You can see the bow forming!

    * Turn the bow sideways now so we can do the next step.

Now we need to make an accordion fold through the exact center of the bow. To do this, pink the full bow three times, one on right, one on left, one in center.

Once you have the three folds made across the center, wrap it with craft wire or thread to hold in place.

  • Here is what your complete bow should look like. You can play around with it to be sure all the loops are even.

Now do the exact same steps as above for a second bow, just a bit smaller than the first one you made.

The second bow will be glued down or sewn on to the larger bow at the back.

  • To make the loops, I like to measure it out behind the back of the bow loop. Leaving the ribbon on the roll, form a teardrop shape just behind the bow loop to determine the size needed.

Mark the length of the loop on the ribbon so you know where your center point will need to be for the next loop.

Fold the ribbon at this center point and cut the excess off the roll.

Use a dab of glue to attach the loop to the point of the ribbon where you made the mark.

  • And then bring the other side of the ribbon to the center.

    Now you have 2 loops.

Repeat this same process again so you have 2 sets of what you see here.

Here are the 2 sets of loops.

Now be sure they are the correct size by placing behind the largest bow.

  • For the sprays behind the bow, determine the length youd like them to be. Cut the ribbon to your desired length and arrange as shown.

Bring your needle and thread across the center of your sprays. I like to start and finish on the top side of the ribbon so it wraps well.

After you bring the needle through, wrap the thread around a few times to hold in place.

Now we can attach our loops to the center of the sprays, as we start to put the pieces of our bow together.

TIP: Work from the bottom, up.

  • Now attach the largest bow on top of the loops, allowing the loops to show around the bow.

    * Anytime you attach the pieces of a bow, you can use hot glue or sew the pieces together.

Attach the top small bow in place and add any embellishment to the center of that bow, if youd like.

Cut all the ends of the ribbon sprays however you prefer and be sure to heat seal your ends so they do not fray.

You can now attach to a lined clip. www.LearnHowtoMakeBows.com Copyright . Next Chapter Learning!
