College Magazine:

What has differed from my preliminary task to now?

• Firstly, the questions will differ when researching about the college magazine and music magazine.

• When I did my preliminary task I did my production research into not a lot of detail, I didn’t ask people on Facebook and think of any other sources of research I could have when creating my college magazine.

• I also didn’t compare my college magazine very much to other college magazines therefore making my college magazine look really unprofessional.

• Furthermore, as I didn’t do much research for my preliminary task I didn’t really base my magazine on much, I completely made I from scratch.

• Also I didn’t know about all the intricate details a magazine includes. • However, my prelminary task did indeed help me on how to use some

sources of research such as survey monkey.

Practice makes perfect…• I also think that another reason as to how I've improved in making my

product better is too the amount of practice I had when starting on my preliminary task. Before I did my preliminary task I had never learned how to use photo shop therefore when starting up it was a very slow and painful process for me. However, once I had learned how to use all the different tools within Photoshop and adobe in-design it helped me to produce a much better project for my music magazine.

• Learning the different tools helped me to use the program more quickly allowing me to spend more time on the more important things, such as the research; understanding what is best to put on my front cover, on my contents page and in my article.

• Inevitably, the more practice I had, the better I got at using Photoshop and Adobe in-design. This therefore enabled me to understand the tools better and create a more professional looking magazine for my target audience.

Therefore…

• Therefore, from this, you can clearly see that not understanding the program really reduces the amount one can do for their magazine.

• I used the amount practice I had to get better at using the programs. This helped me to understand the tools better and ultimately allow me to create an even better magazine for my final piece.

Learning about new websites

• In my preliminary task I used a standard font; Ariel, which is given to every single computer, however I discovered how to download a font to make sure that my final piece was more fitting to the genre.

• Using Dafont enabled me to reach the target audience even further. I used fonts that were fitting to my magazine and therefore making it look more professional for the audience. This will then widen my audience for my magazine as the audience will be able to trust the magazine.
