How did you attract/address you’re

audience?

To attract my audience I had to be very specific with what I had in the magazine. When I started planning out on what I was going to do I needed to roughly know what kind of age group would be attracted to what type of magazine. Then I made a survey on survey monkey asking them what they read and what they like about that magazine. From my results I found that people within the 16-26 age were going to be the audience for my magazine.

When I was designing my magazine pages I decided to make something that was calmer and more formal so it would fit into the correct age group. Throughout the majority of the magazine I ended up using three main colours which were blue, black and white. This gave the magazine a constant theme and made it look formal and not informal. Because it had these colours it meant that the readers would be attracted to the magazine. This was because they felt comfortable and relaxed whilst reading.

Another way that I attracted the audience was to include lots of different stories on the front covers, this then meant that I had included a huge variety of artists and songs. This would mean that people attracted to all of the artists and songs would want to read it more. I also included adverts for prizes to win tickets to concerts and festivals. This meant people would be intrigued by the offers would feel inclined to read more of the magazine to find out more information. On the contents page of the magazine I only took photos of famous artists that are well known. This was so that the reader would recognise the story and would read more stories after seeing that one.

Another way that attracted the audience was through the artists that I used in the contents page and the double page spread. As I used a group that was related to one direction and the wanted. This would then make the audience more attracted to the magazine because of the popular types of artists and groups that there were in the magazine.
