Committee Charge

• Review and rate specifically identified learning management systems to stay abreast and updated on the quality, features, viability of these systems using a standardized rubric (and edutools.com);

• Rank the systems and publish these rankings with a broader group of college/district stake holders within the HCC community;

• Future decisions about changing to a new LMS should be made based on these findings.

Initial Sub-Committees

• LMS Selection (narrowing down the LMS’s to evaluate)

• Evaluation Criteria Committee – set up the first survey to find out what tools HCC faculty currently use in Bb Vista

• Timeline Committee – estimate the timeline

• All three committees goals completely overlapped – so the subcommittees are now one again

• Survey “Two” Goal – expanded survey for committee members used to match up with the edutools.com “feature” listing

• Edutools.com was used to narrow the list of LMS available with HCC preferred “features”

Next Steps

Post evaluation of LM system(s) used by faculty:

Did the system’s “tools/features” work how we expected (Using a rubric, the LM systems will be ranked) ?

Does it meet our Admin/ Technical requirements?Will it/ did it work effectively with PeopleSoft?

Is it cost effective?How much will it cost and what is included in the cost (hosting, support, licensing)?
