CREDENCIAL DE LA UNED

¿Qué es?

Es la modalidad de acceso a la Universidad española para estudiantes que hayan superado sus estudios preuniversitarios y cumplan los requisitos académicos exigidos para acceder a sus universidades en los sistemas educativos de los estados miembros de la Unión Europea, de Bachillerato Europeo y de Bachillerato Internacional.

Si ha cursado sus enseñanzas medias en un sistema educativo de algún estado de la Unión Europea (que no sea España) o de algún otro estado con el que España tenga suscritos acuerdos internacionales a este respecto en régimen de reciprocidad, deberá obtener esta Credencial expedida por la UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia).

NIE. NÚMERO DE IDENTIFICACIÓN DEL EXTRANJERO

¿Qué es?

El NIE es el nombre que recibe popularmente el Número de Identidad del Extranjero, es decir, el número personal y exclusivo que reciben las personas llegadas a España desde otro país. Esta numeración y documento será el identificador del extranjero y te otorgará autorización para permanecer en España.

¿Para qué se necesita el NIE?

El NIE es imprescindible para realizar un importante número de trámites y gestiones en España para temas relacionados con:

ü Vivienda (compra-venta, hipotecas, etc.)

ü Administración (empadronamiento, cédulas de habitabilidad, registro civil...)

ü Seguridad Social (obtención de número de la Seguridad Social, prestaciones del desempleo o paro, etc.)

ü Relaciones económicas (abrir cuentas, impuestos de sociedades, IVA)

ü Otros: contratación de servicios (luz, gas, agua, internet, contrato telefonía móvil), becas y ayudas...

TIE. TARJETA DE IDENTIFICACIÓN DEL EXTRANJERO

¿Qué es?

La TIE es la tarjeta de identidad de extranjero que es el documento destinado a acreditar la situación del extranjero en España.

Requisitos para obtener la TIE

ü Tener expedido un visado o una autorización para permanecer en España por un período superior a seis meses.

ü Haber modificado o alterado la situación legal del titular de la tarjeta de identidad, o de su situación laboral incluidas las renovaciones, determinan la expedición de nueva tarjeta con la vigencia que determine la resolución que conceda la modificación.

VISADO DE ESTUDIANTE

Los ciudadanos de países que no forman parte de la UE y que quieran realizar en España una estancia de estudios, formación o investigación superior a tres meses, deberán tramitar el correspondiente visado de estudios.

No es posible entrar en España con un visado de turista y posteriormente solicitar un visado de estudios. En ese caso, sería necesario regresar a su país de residencia y obtener el nuevo visado allí.

Este tipo de visado es también el que deben solicitar aquellos extranjeros que deseen realizar en España actividades de formación, investigación, prácticas no remuneradas o voluntariado.

HOMOLOGACIÓN DE ESTUDIOS

La homologación es un trámite que supone la equivalencia de los estudios y títulos obtenidos fuera de España a los del sistema educativo español, o bien la equivalencia del grado académico de los niveles de los estudios universitarios y no a un título específico. Los estudios deben estar completamente superados y finalizados.

La convalidación declara equivalentes los estudios extranjeros con los nacionales españoles, para poder continuar dichos estudios en un centro educativo de España.

Requisitos:

Todos los documentos que se aporten a este procedimientos deberán ser oficiales y estar expedidos por las autoridades competentes para ello, de acuerdo con el ordenamiento jurídico del país de que se trate.

TRADUCCIÓN JURADA

¿Qué es una traducción jurada?

Una traducción jurada directa (al español) o inversa (al inglés, francés u otro idioma diferente al español) tiene una serie de características que la distinguen de otros tipos de traducción:

ü Está firmada y sellada por un traductor jurado autorizado para ello (también llamado traductor-intérprete jurado).

ü Tiene carácter oficial ante las autoridades.

Situaciones en que se necesita una traducción jurada:

Suelen exigir la traducción o interpretación jurada de documentos o comparecencias las siguientes autoridades:

ü Las Universidades

ü El Ministerio

ü Los Juzgados

Por otro lado, la traducción jurada se puede utilizar para avalar la información traducida, puesto que el traductor asume la responsabilidad de la traducción con su firma y su sello reconocidos. Por ello, los servicios también pueden ser requeridos por empresas privadas o particulares.

CREDENTIAL OF THE UNED

What is this?

Students coming from any educational systems within Member States of the European Union, will need to homologate their studies by receiving the UNED Credencial in order to obtain access to the Spanish University System.

NIE. FOREIGN IDENTIFICATION NUMBER

What is this?

The NIE is the commonly given name to the Foreign Identification Number. It is an exclusive and personal ID number that all foreigners who have a visa or residency must have.

A great number of people come to Madrid due to its attractiveness, and therefore, this legal requirement can turn into a long waiting process.

Why do you need the NIE?

The NIE is mandatory to be able to complete certain administrative procedures in Spain such as:

ü Administrative documents (censorship, civil registration...)

ü Economical activities (opening of a bank account, business taxes…)

TIE. FOREIGN IDENTIFICATION CARD

What is this?

The TIE is the physical identity card given to foreigners to attest their residence in Spain.

Requirements to obtain the TIE (Identity Card)

ü You must have a visa or authorization of permanency in Spain for more than six months.

ü In case there is a change in the legal situation of the card owner such as the obtention of a working permit.

ü If the id card is stolen, lost, or destroyed.

STUDENT VISA

Citizens of non EU countries who wish to study in Spain for more than 3 months must obtain a student visa.

It is impossible to enter Spain with a tourist visa and later apply for a student visa. Therefore,foreign students wanting to carry out studies in Spain, must apply for the corresponding Visa at the Diplomatic or Consular Offices before their arrival.

HOMOLOGATION AND RECOGNITION OF STUDIES

The homologation of studies is a legal procedure by which the diplomas obtained out of Spain are recognized as their equivalent in the Spanish Educational System.

The recognition allows the foreign student to further continue his education at a Spanish higher education institution.

Requirements:

All documents submitted must be official, issued and recognized by the country of origin.

SWORN TRANSLATIONS

What does it mean?

Sworn translations are quite different from normal ones since:

ü The document must be signed and stamped by an accredited sworn translator.

ü This document has official validity.
