Keukenhof Garden (Holland)

Alejandra Saugar

There are some places in the world, which can’t be described in words, Keukenhof is one of them. It is the most beautiful spring garden in the world.

Where Keukenhof is situated now, was a hunting area in the 15th century. Herbs for the kitchen of the castle of Jacoba van Beieren were also collected here; hence the name Keukenhof.

More than 7 million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths fill over 32 hectares with colour and fragrance. The pavilions feature 30 alternating flower and plant shows. Numerous works of art are shown to advantage amongst the flowers.

Each year, Keukenhof chooses a special theme. Next year’s theme is ‘Holland’. Traditional and modern symbols alike will be used to illustrate the theme throughout the park.
