History of the pistol

The Flintlock pistol

• First used by pirates in ship-to-ship combat

• used metal rod to stuff the ball and gunpowder down the barrel then pulled the hammer ( a.k.a the cock, heehee) back to fire

• could not be used when wet

• made loud “boom” when fired

The Magnum

• possibly the world’s strongest pistol

• invented because of the change of getaway vehicles (horses to cars)

• Armor-piercing rounds

• one of the worlds most common pistol

• made as the successor to the Model 951 pistol

• the Italian gunmaker’s flagship pistol
