COMPUTERS’ HİSTORY İN TURKEY

The first computer came to Turkey in 1960 and it was used in General Directorate of Highways. (IBM - 650 Data processing machine)

The second one was used in Istanbul Technical University in 1972. ( IBM 1620)

The third computer came to Middle East Technical University and the fourth one came to the State Planning Organization.

The first and only computer museum in Safranbolu

A computer museum was founded in Safranbolu/Karabük/Turkey. People can witness the historical development of computers there.

Apple 2 is the oldest computer that is exhibited in the computer museum in Karabük/Turkey.
